The initiative “Die Wirtschaftsmacher” aims to improve the visibility and image of logistics as Germany’s third-largest economic sector in society. In 2018, it emerged from the Image of Logistics working group of the German Logistics Association (BVL). Jens Tosse is one of the initiators of the Wirtschaftsmacher alongside Uwe Berndt (mainblick agency), Frauke Heistermann (AXIT Capital) and Prof. Thomas Wimmer (Bundesvereinigung Logistik, BVL).
There are now around 100 supporters, consisting of companies, logistics-related associations, universities and the media. These include corporations such as DHL, retail companies such as EDEKA, REWE and PENNY, logistics service providers such as LOXXESS, software companies such as AEB, associations and networks such as the German Logistics Association (BVL) and the Logix initiative, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), the Heilbronn University and CBS International Business School.
